Kathy,
the website is
familytreedna.com
You can do it on-line or their website has a phone number. I did it over
the phone. I gave them my credit card info. and then I gave them the name
and address of who is taklng the test and they mailed it to him with full
instructions (2 swabs inside the mouth are all that is required). They kept
me informed via e-mail. It takes several weeks for the testing to be
completed and added to their data base.
I just told them the family name and they said that there was a group of
Chapmans in their data base so they added my request to their list a d
offered me the special rate. Yes, they are going to keep the results in
their data base automatically, and check anyone that submits their DNA
against it. I understand that they do this whether or not the person is a
Chapman, so you may get other hits.

I wish to encourage our fellow Chapmans to send in for their DNA. I
am
told
there are not many Chapmans doing this. They gave me a total price
of
$231.
for the 37 marker test since we are a member of a group. I
haven't
received
my results as yet. My 85 year old male cousin was nice enough to do
the
test and I paid for it.
Barbara,
Thank you for this information. I am interested in doing the same thing -
paying for the test for a male Chapman relative. Is there a special phone
number to call to get the group price? Will they ship the kit to a
different address? Are you going to submit your cousin's results to the
Family Tree DNA site?
Thanks,
Kathy Chapman
