HI Dave,
Bonnie's brother took the test for her. LOL. I was just taking a
shortcut to saying "her brother" all the time. I just say "she" and
"her".

Colleen,
I might be a little confused, but isn't Ybase (
www.ybase.org) a database
of the results of Y-chromosome tests? If SHE had a DNA test and found a
match on Ybase, what part of HER results could possibly match someone on
ybase, since she does not have a Y-chromosome? Or is some other part of the DNA
string being sampled?
Thanks,
Dave Chapman

Hi Listers,
Just joined the list to ask a question about the Chapman DNA study.
I am researching a client's family tree - she was adopted and is trying to
find her biological father. (Her biological mother is deceased.) She
took a DNA test with FTDNA, and this morning her results came in.
She has no 12 marker matches on FTDNA's site, but I did find one on Ybase
with t William Chapman, descended from Isaac Chapman, b abt. 1700, d. abt.
1745 in Virginia.
I know that a 12 marker match is normally not very informative, especially
for common names. But since William Chapman
(_william.chapman(a)earthlink.net_ (mailto:william.chapman@earthlink.net) )
submitted his results in 2005,
I am wondering if he has had an upgrade since then. Also wondering if
there are other Chapmans who might not have tested with FTDNA that might
be out
there.
Could the group administrators of the study Dan and Ernie Chapman please
contact me so I can discuss this further?
Thanks,
Colleen Fitzpatrick
