The DNA project is Dan's business, but in my view it will only be a matter of
time before CFA gets involved with mtDNA. As I think I mentioned in an
earlier message our Alford association DNA project already has a female mtDNA
participant. But, keep in mind -- these are not surname oriented.
Results from mtDNA cannot be compared with the Y-DNA results and they are no
good for tracing the Chapman line, however, as I understand it it is a much
more extensive test.
I don't know if Dan will be making arrangements for receiving and reporting
on mtDNA at the FTDNA site or not. FTDNA does the mtDNA tests so facilities
should be available.
