James
Rupert lives in the UK and his email address is RupertL3(a)aol.com. I think
that he is from the USA but do not know for sure.
Have you talked with Rees Chapman I think he is part of the Giles Chapman
Quakers of VA?

I have nothing in my files on Rupert Chapman but will keep him in
mind as
I
continue my research. Most likely you will trace him back to
England. J.
Montgomery Seaver who compiled CHAPMAN FAMILY HISTORY--Published in 1929
had
this to say: " Chapman of Whitby, Yorkshire, England"
"The Chapman
Family
resided in Whitby prior to the year 1216, as appears from the
registers
and
rolls of Whitby Abbey. Roger and John Chapman lived there in 1381.
Most
of
the Chapmans now residing in America are known or believed to be
descended
from this branch." Whitby is near Bridlington. Giles Chapman's wife and
her ancestors have been found in the Quaker church records in that area.
Giles' parents probably lived in this part of England. Good luck in your
search and thank you for replying to my email. James
