Intriguing stuff! Thanks so much for sharing it!
Last I checked, there were many Isaac Chapmans in CT in the 1700s. I can't
figure out how to connect with any of them yet. But, yours may be an
interesting angle.

Rees,
When you were discussing the Culpeper Chapmans, you mentioned that Isaac
Chapman arrived in VA from CT.
I have a suggestion on who, when, and where to look for Isaac's ancestors.
The first Chapman in CT would have been John Chapman, who took the Oath Of
A
Freeman of the Massachusetts Bay Colony on May 14th, 1634.

Chapman was the 6th person to sign the Oath on that day. The 8th person to
sign the document was Thomas Hooker. As you may recall from history,
Thomas
Hooker, a minister, got into a disagreement with John Cotton, another
minister regarding who should be eligible to vote in the colony. Hooker
left Massachusetts, took his congregation, which included John Chapman, and
founded what is now Connecticut.

John Chapman lived in CT in the 1630's and left a paper trail which I have
seen in past years.
