James, my line is also out of one of the many Frederick Co., VA Chapman
lines. I have submitted my 37-marker test to the Chapman DNA project
http://www.familytreedna.com/public/Chapman/ and would love to compare my
DNA results with yours to see if there are any matches to the DNA from the
Giles Chapman line. Proving or disproving a link to Giles Chapman would be
very, very helpful to lots of researchers. As you know, only Chapman men
can submit this DNA for testing, and Chapman men who are also interested in
genealogy are hard to find, so you are one of the very few who can help to
prove the links (or lack of them) to Giles Chapman. Pricing of the DNA kits
is found at
http://www.familytreedna.com/products.html. By the way, my
blood type is O positive.

Subject: Re: [CHAPMAN-DNA] 37 markers
Hello, Corey My name is James Walter Chapman and my lineage goes like
this: Me > Walter Daniel Chapman > George Ellis Chapman > Daniel Chapman >
David Chapman > Joseph Chapman and > Giles Chapman (from Bridlington,
England). My Chapmans were the Quakers who first settled in Frederick Co Va,
later moved to North Carolina, and in 1760 settled in Newberry South
Carolina. My blood type is type 0 positive and to my knowledge none of my
relatives from George Ellis down have AB type blood. Can you tell me about
the cost of being DNA tested and what the possibilities are of connecting to
other branches of the Chapman families. We have never been able to connect
Giles Chapman to any of the others in America or back in England. James
Chapman.
