Hi Dee,
The Holidays are always busy; but that is still an excellent idea.
Mine is a CHAPLIN-STONEKING family. I have tried to collect information
for about 30 years. My Mom's Aunts were interested and wrote down what they
thought were correct. It still has been difficult to make much progress.
CHAPLIN several spellings is quite common. I am in the U.S. The line is
already in Greene Co., PA. by 1800. One 1880 census suggests they were in
Maryland before that. I have saved on another computer drive several census
pages of various CHAPLINs. Some seem to fit some of my Mom's Aunts'
information. Later I hope to share some about these people. Maybe we can
come up with some answers.

Subject: [CHAPLIN] Roll Call
Hi List,
I thought the holidays would be an excellent time for a
roll call, maybe fulfill someone's wish this season. I hope you will
if and when you have time post your research interests. Please include a
good subject line - a given name if you want, time period, place names
are helpful. In your message include what information you have with
complete dates as much as possible, and any research questions you may
have. If you don't have time right now, then I hope you will be able to
after the holidays.
Kind regards,
Dee Ferris

The Chaplines first came to Virginia -quite early - shortly after the first settlers came
to the James R. Historical Society in VA accepts them as legit.
The Chaplines showed up in MD near the Potomac River and early settlers of the Eastern
Shore and XCand then in Central MD and Western MD an then in that part of VA which is now
WVA
My wife's Chaplines arrived in the Midwest via the previous sentence. Dick Matteson
