Rick,
David Chapin (1623 - 1672) is not the line I am working, as
my wife is descended from his younger brother Japhet (1642 -
1712), but I do have a small amount of unverified information
on his family, including some supposed birth locations. Here
is what I have:
David CHAPIN (00956) b. 1/4/1623, d. 8/16/1672
m. Lydia CRIMP (02865) on 8/29/1654 in Boston
(not Hampden) (Source for marriage date and location:
"Genealogical Dictionary of New England", Volume I,
Page 360, found on-line at
ancestry.com)
Children:
Lydia CHAPIN (15843) b. 6/19/1655
Caleb CHAPIN (15844) b. 4/2/1657
Sarah CHAPIN (15835) b. 3/3/1659, Boston
Jonathan CHAPIN (15836) b. 2/12/1665, Boston
Union CHAPIN (15837) b. 12/23/1668, Boston
(Source for the Boston birthplace of Sarah,
Jonathan, and Union is: "Boston Births,
Baptisms, Marriages, and Deaths 1630 - 1699",
again found on-line at
ancestry.com. It is
interesting that these same three chilren are not
even mentioned as offspring of David and Lydia
in the "Genealogical Dictionary of New England",
Volume I, Page 360, where I found the location
of their marriage.)
I realize that is isn't much, but thought you might like it anyway.
Happy hunting.
