My granduncle was Raymond CHAPIN Lewis ( b.1883, MA, d.1924, CT). His father
was Justus Packard LEWIS (b.1850 Eastern Canada, d. 1916,CT), the son of
Samuel Lewis (b.1822 Eastern Canada d, 1877 in Iowa) and Sarah Ann PACKARD
(b.1832 Eastern Canada, d. 1906 possibly in Hartford,CT) Raymond's mother was
Emma Eliza RICE (b.1856, MA & d. 1916, CT) the daughter of Chauncey RICE (b.
1817, MA & d. 1875, MA) and Maria Huldah WHITE,( b. 1823, MA d. 1888, MA.)
Does anyone out there know of any connection between the CHAPINS and either
the LEWIS,
PACKARD, RICE or WHITE families? I can find no connection and Raymonds
only child knew of none but then, her father died when she was quite young.
With the exception of Samuel & Sarah Packard LEWIS (of Canada). The Lewis, Rice
& White, and second & third generations all lived in the Heath & Springfield
Massachusetts area at one time or another. Perhaps that's a clue which
might help someone help me break down a wall'
