Robert Chapin Partenheimer, 83, died Feb. 10, 2007, at Indian River
Medical Center in Vero Beach. He was born in Springfield, Mass., and was
a graduate of Amherst College and Cornell Medical School, becoming a
doctor in 1947.
He moved to Fort Pierce after retirement. From 1949 to 1954 he served in
the Commissioned Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service, attaining the
rank of lieutenant commander, and was on a U.S. Coast Guard seaplane
tender USCG McCulloch conducting weather ship service in the North
Atlantic. He also served at the National Institute of Health in
Bethesda, Md.
He is survived by his wife Carol Griffiths Partenheimer; daughter Barbara
P. Haislip of Chatham, N.J.; sons Robert H. Partenheimer, of Chicago, and
Richard C. Partenheimerof White Plains, N.Y.; and sister Joyce Mann of
Orinda, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to The American Heart Association,
1100 S. Federal Highway, Stuart, FL 34996. SERVICES: A memorial service
will be at 11 a.m. Feb. 13 at Aycock Funeral Home, Fort Pierce.

Dr. Robert Chapin Partenheimer died Feb. 10th at Indian River Medical
Center in Vero Beach, Florida. He was 83 years old.
Dr. Partenheimer was a graduate of Amherst College and Cornell Medical
School; he became an MD in 1947. He enjoyed a long and successful career
practicing medicine. From 1949 to 1954 he served in the Commissioned
Corps of the U.S. Public Health Service attaining the rank of Lieutenant
Commander, and was on a U.S. Coast Guard seaplane tender (USCG McCulloch)
conducting weather ship service in the North Atlantic. He also served at
the National Institute of Health in Bethesda, MD.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Griffiths); his daughter Barbara
P. Haislip and son-in- law, Douglas Haislip of Chatham, NJ; his son
Robert H. Partenheimer and daughter-in-law, Nora of Chicago, IL; his son
Richard C. Partenheimer of White Plains, NY; grandchildren Robin
Partenheimer Wheeler; Kimberly Partenheimer Haack; Kelly Partenheimer;
and Richard, Rodman and Robert Haislip. He is also survived by his
sister, Joyce Mann, and her husband, William, of Orinda, Calif; niece,
Carol and nephews, William and Robert.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13th, at 11AM at Aycock
Funeral Home in Ft. Pierce, FL. Donations may be given in his memory to
the American Heart Association, the American Diabetes Association, or the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
