ASHTABULA, OH - - Cora B. Woodworth, age 98, a resident of the Ashtabula
County Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the past six years,
died Monday afternoon, January 29, 2007.
Born October 13, 1908 in Jefferson, she was a daughter of Harry and
Helen L. (Coon) Chapin, and has lived in Jefferson most of her life.
She also lived in Madison and Ashtabula for 20 years, moving to Florida
in 1982, and returning in 1988. She married James E. Woodworth on July 3,
1925 in Jefferson.
Cora attended the Fundamental Baptist Church in Florida, and was active
with the First Baptist Church in Jefferson and in Ashtabula. She was
involved with the Women's Circle at the church, and enjoyed playing
bingo and reading at the nursing home.
Survivors include seven children, Royal H. Woodworth of Austinburg
Township, Laurence E. Woodworth of Westerville, Robert E. Woodworth
of Deltona, Florida, Paul R. Woodworth of Jefferson, Ruth I. Gran
of Jefferson, Ruby N. Simpson of Columbus, and Barbara J. Lasher
of Ashtabula; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren;
and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James in 1961;
three children in infancy; three sons, Clifford D., Howard L., and
James E. Woodworth; a daughter, Betty; a grandson, James R. Woodworth;
a brother, Louis Chapin; a sister, Florence Martison; and a half-sister,
Mary Hare.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, February 3, 2007,
at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS,
49 West Jefferson Street, Jefferson, Ohio, with Reverend Ray Williams,
interim pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Madison Memorial Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2007,
at the Funeral Home.

Church, 4353 Park Avenue, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004. Envelopes will be
at the Funeral Home.
