Came to Boise,Id. in 1861 where he engaged in freighting between Corine, Utah and Boise.
He left Boise and located on a ranch about 35 miles east of the present site of Twin
falls, Id. He engaged in farming and placer mining. He came to Idaho Falls in 1892 where
he bought property and built his home. He was publisher of the Idaho Falls Times, served
two terms on the city council and was democratic nominee for Governor of the state. Later
became probate judge. He died in Idaho Falls at St. John's Episcopal Church.

Charles owned his home in Idaho Falls,and was a civil engineer employed by the Idaho State
Engineering Dept. At the time of his death he was city engineer. His death was presumed
caused by ptomaine poisoning.
