Carol,
If you aren't too deluged, could you check for:
Civil War:
George S(amuel) Chapin (1833-1886)
Wives: Julia Emily (Sykes) and Abigail (Donaldson)
I have evidence of three different George S. Chapins who served in the Civil
War (one in the Union Navy) and am trying to figure out which is my wife's
ancestor. Maybe the info in the book will help.
Thanks,
Floyd

When I went to the conference in Ft Wayne, IN and went to the library I
found an interesting book about Chapin's in the wars (Rev War & Civil War &
Indian wars). I will try to list one name a day with the info. Also
you may ask
for a name and I'll search my copies.
I , also, got to meet a special Chapin Cousin, Elizabeth. She & I worked on
trying to find her missing link up to Deacon Samuel. We think we found it,
but need a primary source to prove it. It was Jane Chapin and
Ira Smith (easy
name HUH). Carol
