I, also, got to meet a special Chapin Cousin, Elizabeth. She & I
worked on trying to find her missing link up to Deacon Samuel.
We think we found it, but need a primary source to prove it.
It was Jane Chapin and Ira Smith (easy name HUH). Carol
Ron and others
Elizabeth remembered that her grandmother said something about a Kitty
Chapin. Elizabeth is 86 yrs old and her info goes back futher than my
grandfathers. Also, she knew from research that they were from Berkshire Co. Well what I
think that was the deciding factor was that a Phineas Chapin enlisted from
Berkshire county in R. W. This was in the book. We therefore looked up in
Chapin books and saw a Kitty Jane Chapin that married an Ira Smith from the same
area. So line goes:
Deacon Samuel
Josiah
Seth
John
Soloman
Phineas m. Lydia
Let me know either way if this seems logical. She's been looking for 30
years for parentage of her Jane Chapin. Carol
