I have hesitated sharing my Chapin line as I haven't able to prove
one
of the links. However, all research [points] to the following line:
Deacon Sam Chapin (1598-1675); David (1624-1672); Jonathan I
(1665-1710); Jonathan II (1711-1780); Joseph (1744-1820); Luke
(1777-1852); Milton William (abt 1807-??); Oscar (1835-1920);
Frank William (1869-1928); Floyd Howard (1894-1946).
Some time ago someone was seeking information on Martha Stebbins,
who is wife of Joseph above. I have some information on that family.

Is your unproven link between David and Jonathan I? I have Jonathan II
as the s/o Jonathan (1688-1761), m. Elizabeth Burt, s/o Japhet s/o
Samuel,
whereas others have Jonathan (1665-1724), s/o David as Elizabeth's
husband.
Worldconnect shows 152 entries, most of which favor Japhet:

I show Luke (m. Theresa Shaw) as d. Lowville, Erie Co, PA; I live
in Erie but haven't gotten around to looking into this branch yet:
