Hi,
I just posted an old newspaper ad run by a Dr. A. B. CHAPIN for "Gum
Spring" plantation, which includes a nice description. While the ad
instructs prospective buyers to contact Dr. CHAPIN in Raleigh, I'm not
sure that the plantation itself was located in Wake County. This was
scanned from an original issue of the New-York Weekly Tribune dated
April 30, 1879, and you can see it online here:
