Bemus Point...Shirley J. Chapin, 54, of Bemus Street, died at 3 a m today
at his home.
Mr. Chapin was born on the Fluvanna Townline Road, Town of Ellery, February
11, 1901, the son of Jay S. and Bertha Lown Chapin. He had been a resident
of the Townline Road until four years ago when he moved to Bemus Point.
He was employed as a miller for the Grandin Milling company, Jamestown.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Corstange Chapin; a daughter, Frances
Shirley Chapin at home; two sisters, Mrs. Ernest Engdahl, Sinclairville;
Mrs. Lawrence Phillips, Route l, Jamestown.
Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Monday from the Evans Funeral Home,
Bemus Point. Rev. Norman McLean, pastor of the Bemus Point Methodist Church
will officiate.

Bearers at the funeral of Mr. Shirley Chapin were: Lyle Price, Earl Price,
Roger Phillips, William Sperry, Donald Merchant and Kenneth Mason. Attending
from away werre Mr. and Mrs. Philmore Halvick, Youngsville, Pa.: Mr. and
Mrs. L. J. White, Corry, Pa. Burial was in Fluvanna Cemetery.
