I ran across a book my grandmother left me written by some earlier
Chapins, generation by generation, very interesting. This is what I found

In the book was a paragraph which I found interesting, don't know if they
are my line of the Chapin's or not, but it might help someone.
"Jonathan (son of Iaphet and Abelene) married to Elizabeth Bant (died
1769) had 11 children, one of which, Daniel Chapin born 3/5/1717 was
taken by the Spaniards."
I am just getting started with this and am finding it very interesting,
