We have had a few new people join our Chapin list recently. I think it would
be a good
idea for everyone to list their brick wall. List names, dates and locations.
Hope to hear from new and old members of our list.

Ditto on the great idea, Carol! My brick wall is Roswell Chapin, born abt
1783 (1790?) in Rutland, Vermont of Daniel Chapin and Lucy Martin Chapin.
Roswell married Sarah Marsh in 1820 in Butler County Ohio and had six
children. They lived in Somerville, Milford Township, Butler County Ohio.
In his grandson, Silas' detailed obit from St. Louis, it is stated that
Roswell died in Wayne County Indiana (Richmond) just six months of being 100
years old. I *absolutely* can not find out where this old bird is buried. I
truly believe he knew I'd come looking for him, so he deliberately slid into
obscurity :)

Linda,
According to "The Chapin Book," Daniel Chapin, son of Samuel and Beulah (Taft)
Chapin, was born 24 September 1765 in Uxbridge, MA, and died about 1791 in
Wardsboro, VT. He married Lucy Martin, by whom he had two children, Lucinda, b.
18 November 1788, and Roswell, b. 20 December 1790. No further information is
given on the marriages or descendants of these two children. I can provide you
with Daniel's ancestry back to Dea. Samuel Chapin, if that is what you need. If
Roswell died within six months of his 100th birthday, then he must have died
between June and December 1890.
Let me know what else you need.
