Nancy was assumed to have not survived in Kansas. My computer crashed a month ago and lost
most of my gleanings that were only on the computer. But had found Charles Albert in
Central Washington census. After Orin died in Eola Polk co., OR lydia applied for pension
from Salem and then moved to Olympia or Tacoma with daughter who had a pharmacy supply or
similar sales place. One source not checked would be the News paper for Bennington or
Minneapolis. Bennington paper carried news of Alice (Galoway) Chapin and her children
Charles and Nellie death. Also death of Parthena Smith Chapin Gilson in January 1880. The
1900 Census of Eola, Polk Co., OR, had Orrin, Lydia and a daughter and grand daughter. The
daughter was a widow of an Allen. If you do a search for Merryfield in 1910 Washington it
may bring up the Merryfield boys.
