The only Curran I found in Worldconnect is

but he doesn't match :^(
Also, there were no other entries for the latter Curran's parents:
Philander A. Chapin b. 1822? NY, m. Elizabeth A. Page 8/13/1855
Branch Co, MI. She was born ABT 1835 in PA.

I am researching recruits from a local unit during WWI,
and am interested in more information about this man:
CHAPIN, Curran Joseph--240687--born: Meadville, Pa., USA on January 21,
1895; residence: Y.M.C.A., Hamilton; occupation: Machinist; attested:
November 8, 1916; embarkation: 205th Battalion - 1st Reinforcing Draft
(SS Saxonia on March 28, 1917 from Halifax, NS); died on March 24, 1918
while serving with the 8th Canadian Machine Gun Company
and is buried at La Targette British Cemetery, France
