Elizabeth,
The only Julius Chapin I have in my records was married to Persis Chapin (a cousin?)
I have no parents for him.
Her parents were Abigail Barber and Zerah Chapin.
Persis and Julius had a son Zerah Chapin who married 1) Elizabeth Burnett 2) Lucy
Stalkweather
I noticed Julius died in La Salle Co, IL which is not far from Warren Co, IL where my
Chapin line moved.
Cathy

I'm desperately seeking to find birth/baptism/christening records linking Julius F.
Chapin (b. about 1800-1801 in Massachusetts, died March 1884 in La Salle, La Salle Co.,
Illinois) to his father, Eli Chapin (b. Sept. 21, 1764 in Springfield, MA and died around
1850 in New York City). Eli is the great-great grandson of Deacon Samuel Chapin
(1598-1675), who immigrated to the US around 1635-1638. Eli was married September 23,1790
to Rachel Hubbard (b. 1771) and they moved from Sheffield, MA, to New York City sometime
after 1801. Eli is listed as a coffee manufacturer in the 1820 New York City Directory,
page 116. If anyone has any additional information that could link Julius Chapin to his
father Eli Chapin, I would greatly appreciate it! Thank you in advance.
