G'Day list
This issue has risen again but this time it is purely
due to the change to the new mailman system.
It seems Messageboard postings are now held for review along with any
postings the system thinks are from non members.
Please note the messages anyone recieves stating they are not a member
does not mean your not a member of
Ancestry.com nor of Rootsweb.
It means Rootsweb's Mailman system has put your message on hold because for
whatever reason
(non-subscriber address, spam detector words in message, commercial content
detected etc)
the systems software settings has deemed the message needs to be viewed by
the administrator.
This only affects messageboards gatewayed to Rootsweb email lists. Many
admins prefer to not take
up that option as it can have problems with irrelevant messages going to
their list.
I am now getting many more of these than I used to and it's taking up a lot
of time sorting through
them. If you post to a number of message boards please dont panic, as this
is Rootsweb wide
and is just a new aspect of the changes to the Mailman software.
Messages to the Chant messageboard will continue to be forwarded to the
Chant list as long as they are
Chant research related. For those that on first appearance dont appear
related (discussion of other family lines
when someone comes across a non Chant name they are researching and replies)
these will need to be checked
with the poster before posting to the list as they may be irrelevant to
Chant research.
regards
Michael
