We crack yet another nut on Chant ancestral lines. Yet again with
the combined knowledge of five list members we break a long
standing brickwall for a Chant lines origins.
Welcome comments, additions, suggested corrections, details of
sibling lines etc anyone wishes to post.

and arriving at Adelaide on the 19th July 1855.

People who paid towards the cost of their passage, and the
rest of their fare was paid by South Australia.
Elizabeth Chant, aged 40yrs, paid One English Pound towards
the fare, and Six English Pounds for her "outfit" ( Outfit
refers to clothing and tools of trade etc. which they arrived
with).
Thomas Chant aged 20yrs paid Two English Pounds
Mary A. Chant aged 17yrs paid One English Pound.
Anna M. Chant aged 15yrs paid One English pound
Alexander Chant aged 9yrs paid Ten English Shillings.

Mary Ann Bigham formerly Stent nee Chant died in Bourke, Victoria,
Austraia in 1918 aged 83 years.

(probably died very young)
D2) 1862 Elizabeth Ann (Bessie) STENT born at Burra - Married.?.
Mr. Gladstonbury. Auntie Bessie (as she was known) and her
Husband came to Kalgoorlie / Boulder, Western Australia and
took Ethel Catherine NAYLOR home with them to raise, they
did this to help her half sister Mary Elizabth Bigham NAYLOR
after James Naylor died. Elizabeth Ann STENT GLADSTONBURY
died aged 75 years.

Mary Elizabeth Bigham born 11.6.1875 in Stafford Street, South Australia.
Later changed her name to Bingham married James John NAYLOR (cannot find
any info on him) Born August, 1871 in Huon, Tasmania died 29.10.1921.

James John NAYLOR Died 29.10.1921 from Silicosis from working
underground on the mines and was sent to Wooroloo Hospital
where all patients with the same complaint were treated.

Alexander Chant died during 1923 at Young aged 77 yrs old. He
married firstly to Ruth Jennings. She died during 1887 at Young
