Hi Sean,
I had hopes of this lot but can't find a Stoke-sub-Hamdon connection. I was
basing these on names running in families and one of my aunts was
Hilda Adelina Albertina Chant 1898-1971
She always denied the second two names but did confess to adding 'Lottie' to
Hilda but I think this was just her fancy!
In the 1881 census Louisa is living with Elizabeth Geary, her mother, but
there is no spouse in evidence. I can't find a likely male Chant about either. If
it is the same person (5 years out) by 1901 she is in Southampton:
12844102 527819 Chant Louisa 45 Guernsey Southampton Portswood
Laundress 1068/055
12844103 527819 Chant Elizabeth 11 Hants Southampton Southampton
Portswood 1068/055
Cheers,
John
