Hello Listers,
Further to our discussions last week. These are a few extras I have
gleaned. Sorry my notes are a bit haphazard and census returns out of
order. I am sure you can work it out for yourselves.

On the 1871 census
Thomas Chant Snr, future husband of Laura was aged 26 still at
Bridgwater as a medical student, living not with his family but as a
boarder.
On the 1861 census: Bridgwater

Edward I Chant, son aged 5 born Bridgwater
Thomas Criddle, father in law aged 79 born Bridgwater
I am not so sure about the son Edward above. He might in fact be the son
Erland listed on the 1851 census born 1836. See below.

It looks as though daughter Elizabeth must have married George Kidner
and died at some stage during the 1870's
Thomas's younger brother Robert seemed to have died young
Brother Robert died aged 22 Bridgwater March 1869 5c 330
Not sure what became of the other brother Erland/Edward.
Does anyone know when Joseph and Maria died ?
Does anyone know who Joseph's parents might be ? He was clearly born in
Stoke, Somerset c. 1810.
Regards,
Sean
