Hi Gwen,
My gg-grandfather, George,b Oborne 1816, was the son of Samuel Chant and
Elizabeth Justins. That makes him your 3G grandfather's brother.
Best regards,
Gill Chant

Subject: [CHANT] My Chant connection
Dear List
Michael has suggested I give details of my Chant connection to see how
they fit within your Chants.
My 2 x GGrandmother was Louisa Chant born in Oborne in 1854
Louisa's parents were Benjamin Chant born in Oborne in 1808 and
Elizabeth Cane
Benjamin's parents were Samuel Chant born in Oborne in 1777 and
Elizabeth Justins
Samuel's parents were Benjamin Chant born in Horsington in 1727 and
Martha Chaplain
My mystery Chant is Susannah Chant, born in 1738 in Montacute, Somerset.
Susannah married William Hockey in 1765
Their son William Hockey born in Montacute in 1766 in Montacute, married
to Catherine Bool
Their son Jesse Hockey born in Montacute in 1795
and Jesse's daughter Mary Hockey born 1840 (was my 2 x GGrandmother.)
If anyone has Susannah in their family I would be interested to know,
she may not have been born in Montacute, but that is the only
information I have.
