Hi everyone,
I'm new to the list and thought I'd share my interests with you.
I am trying to find some information about my maternal great
grandmother Rose Emma CHANT. She was aged 20 when she
married Bertie WRIGHT at St Saviours Church, Saltley
(Birmingham) in 1911. The marriage certificate says that her father
was John CHANT, a coach builder. I have been unable to trace her
birth certifcate as yet but hope that her father may be the one
listed on the census entries shown below.

Stephen Chant was born in East Tytherley, Hants and according to
the IGI, it seems as though his parents were George and Mary
Chant (christening 24th Sept 1826). I believe that Stephen is John's
father and again the details are on the IGI website. John was
christened in Baddesley Clinton, Warwickshire on 10 Oct 1852.
There are also weddings for John CHANT and Harriet Elizabeth
HARPER on 25 Dec 1872 (Dale End, B'ham) and Stephen CHANT
and Sarah WHEELER on 23 Aug 1847. There are a large number
of Sarah Wheelers listed in Warwickshire, but one christened 9th
Sept 1831 to John and Hannah WHEELER, in Baddesley Clinton
seems promising. I also have a few more details about Stephen's
family from the1881census but don't have the information with me
at present.
I haven't checked these details on the original sources yet but
before I start I'd be very pleased to hear from anyone who has
already done all the hardwork or has any further information!
Look forward to hearing from you,
Sam
