Well it seems Anthony Nailor the pro researcher
got a bit wrong. His help in finding some info for
us is very much appreciated but he is now only doing
searches for a fee of about 10 pounds per hour.
Firstly Cathy Pinner's Augusta Chant was not the same
one from Holwell as he suggested. As it turns out she
was from Milborne Port between Sherborne and Henstridge.
This confirmed in the 1881 census. Secondly her brother
Rev. William Chant has been located in Cornwall and was
also born in Milborne Port.
For many years now I have been writting snail mail with another Chant
researcher with Milborne Port lines. So
another match up is very likely now.
Secondly George Chant ABT b 1767 Beryl from Canada
is still looking for her George Chant who settled in
Bradford Abbas,, Dorset about 1794 or so.
Anthony had my George who married Elizabeth in 1799
Sherborne as the candidate. This was incorrect
I can suggest only one candidate at the moment as
George b 1767 son of John and Diannah.
John is the son of Robert b 1700 son of Mary and
father unknown which about a third of our
researchers link in with. Beryl will be searching
for George in LDS records. If anyone else has info
that could suggest this is her George or not. I'm
sure Beryl would appreciate the help. As each line
gets calimed and info comes in it helps others reduce
the number of possibles left.
