Hello Listers,
I forgot to mention that George had a brother living with him on the
1900 census, John born c. 1861 in England. He also migrated during 1886.
This family has stubbornly refused to be located on either the 1910 or
1920 US census returns. I am also having trouble finding them on the
1871 or 1881 English returns.
Does these names mean anything to someone ?
Regards,
Sean

Hello Listers,
Not sure if we have discussed this family before:
On the 1900 US census at Alliance City, Nebraska:
George Chant born 1864 born England, labourer, migrated 1886.
His children, the eldest two were born in Illinois, Lucy and Delbert
duirng the early 1890's, the next 3 were born in Iowa, the youngest
during 1898, so they were recent settlers in Nebraska.
Does anyone have information on this family ?
Regards,
Sean
