Not a connection of mine but to try and be of assistance - Do you have Ada
Dorothy/Dorothy Ada's marriage certificate which would list her Fathers name
and presumably you have a rough idea of the year of her birth from her Death
certificate ?

Christine

I have a paternal grandmother by the name of Ada Dorothy or Dorothy Ada
Chant. She came from a Barnado's home in the early 1900's somewhere in
London, Whitechapel, I think. The story is that she ran away, walked to
Stilton near Peterborough and eventually married my grandfather in 1925,
Sydney Coles, who was the publican at the famous Stilton Cheese public
house. She died in 1926 shortly after my father was born, of T.B. and is
buried in Stilton cemetary. There is some doubt about whether he was the
father of her child. I don't have her birth date. Is she possibly an
ancestor of yours?
Ann Barton
