Hello Christine,
I am not so sure that this Harry Chant might be the brother of
Frederick. The index on the National Archives webpage states that he was
born 1882, whereas I think Harry Jnr was born:
Births Mar 1887
------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHANT Henry Lewes 2b 188
It also states he was born in Littleborough and not Newhaven as the 1891
and 1901 census returns indicate. However I wonder if there was another
Harry Chant born in 1882 in Littleborough ? There is no evidence that
there was. So do you reckon this is him ? Just a mix up with his year of
birth ?
Regards,
Sean

Can't answer this one Sean. I know he was a fireman in Newhaven.
His
son Ken (health permitting) is visiting us in June from Stoke
Staffordshire so I'll try to remember to ask him.
