Michael suggested mentioning Chant's killed in action as November 11th approaches.
My grandfather Frederick Chant was killed in action on 20th Feb 1917 whilst
serving
on the Somme in WW1. He was a member of the Oxford and Bucks Light Infantry,
6th battalion. His death is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial in France (for
soldiers
with no known grave) and on the memorial in Stockbridge, Hampshire, his home town.
Does anyone else have a Chant who died in WW1?
Regards
David Chant
