Hello John,
Yes you were right, David on the 1930 census is living with his wife
Ida Chant.
David J Chant, Head aged 49, married at 18, born (Canada English),
migrated 1898, carpenter
Ida Chant, wife aged 35, married at 21, born NY.
So I assume David was married first at 18....and second at 35 if the
above ages are correct. I coul'dnt find David on either the 1920 or
1910 census. That is not say he is not there though. I am assuming that
he arrived from Canada in 1898 !
Is this him on the Canadian 1881 census ?
