Dear All,
For all of you with copies of the above trees that I've sent out during the
past months - disks or paper - I've recently come across 2 errors whilst
checking thru' the 1851 Census for England and Wales - it's recently been
transcribed and put on CD-ROM.
1) John CHANT that married Lucy LIGHT in Whiteparish was NOT the John of
Frenchmoor, Hampshire but came from Homington, Wilts. and presumably is a
son of Jonathon CHANT and Elizabeth (nee MAIDMENT) - the only CHANT family
in Homington in the 1780's (the PR's for Homington are missing for this time
so unfortunately a baptism date is not available[as per George CHANT
discussed with Michael]). This means that any Whiteparish CHANT's are now on
my tree - any family for John CHANT of Frenchmoor would be appreciated.
2) James CHANT of Homington did NOT marry for a 2nd and 3rd time away from
Homington to Maria JUDD and Jane MUSSELL as this James was of East
Tytherley, Hampshire. Therefore, I've no baptism for this James now and no
burials for either of the James'. Any family for James CHANT of East
Tytherley would be appreciated.
Sorry for any confusion this may cause but I don't think either of the above
affects any direct relations that I'm corresponding with at the moment.
Andy CHANT.
