Hello Andy,
I know that Michael has replied to this in part.
I am fairly certain that George Chant buried 13th April 1916 aged 71
was baptised at Bradford Abbas 2nd March 1845 son of James and Rhoda
Chant. George seems to have moved into Sherborne after he married.
Sep Qtr 1871 to Annie Eliza Brown: Sherborne 5a
They are listed on the 1881 census thus:
George CHANT Head M Male 35 Bradford Abbas, Dorset,
England Stone Mason
Annie G. CHANT Wife M Female 32 Sherborne, Dorset,
England
Lilly F. CHANT Dau Female 8 Sherborne, Dorset,
England Scholar
Rosa M. CHANT Dau Female 6 Sherborne, Dorset,
England Scholar
Daisy M. CHANT Dau Female 1 Sherborne, Dorset,
England
Dwelling - Coombe
Census Place Sherborne, Dorset, England
I am not sure who Mary Eliza Chant died 1914 aged 59 is. I have
pondered on this one myself for a while. She is not easily picked on
the various census returns. A bit more digging needs to go on here.
Anyone have any ideas ?
Regards,
Sean
