Hello Andy,
On first look I am not sure who George and Robert at Bristol Rd are. I
will give them some further thought. Likewise with Thomas of the Sun Inn.
However the others are easily tied. You were correct with your
assumptions regarding George and Harriet on Market St.
As regards Samuel and his family on Acreman St. Of course he could be
either son of George or William. However myselg and Michael to name but
two have always thought he was the son of George and Elizabeth. There is
a Samuel Chant died 1835 aged 27 at Sherborne, who given his age fits
better with the son of William and Hannah Phillips. Given this the
Samuel who married Mary Morris is probably the son of George and
Elizabeth. Nothing set in concrete of course.
Regards,
Sean

Listers,
Has anybody any ideas for the following from the OPC transcription of
the Sherborne 1841 Census (ages on this Census are rounded up and down
quite a lot but the dates below are what they work out to):
Bristol Road
George CHANT b.1835
Robert CHANT b.1836
Living in the house of Israel CHAFFEY?
Sun Inn Cheap Street
Thomas CHANT b.1821 not Dorset?
Market Street
George CHANT b.1816 carpenter
Harriet CHANT b.1816
James CHANT b.1840
Could this be George (of Haydon) and Harriet MINTERNE?
Acreman Street
Samuel b.1811 Ag Lab
Mary b.1806
Jean b.1832
Caroline b.1834
Charles b.1839
This could be the son of William and Anna PHILIPS or George and
Elizabeth NOAKES?
Andy.
