my correspondance has really piled up.
I think you may have got the wrong Christine - my Chant line is from Odcombe
in Somerset but I am in touch with Christine whose family stems from
Hampshire so have passed this email on to her.

You should come to a digital image of a Chant gamekeeper in 1901 who I
believe is
Charles CHANT of Romsey Hants (at Hound Hants on the 1901 Census
with wife Fanny and 3 children) which I think is your line.
Details found in the Hampshire Genealogical Society magazine this month.
