The Crouches were always involved in land deals and other things. Check
early Monongalia court records and you will find an interesting
involvement with a Riffle lady, dgt of Eleanor and Francis who was
killed by the Indians. This is probably Sr. I am too tired to look it up
now for sure. They went on to Kentucky.
If I have a pet theory this is it: Jeremiah Channel Sr and wife Nancy.
He died in 1797, she between 1810/20, is the father of John, Joseph, and
Jeremiah Jr. The reason the other children, probably girls and maybe
some boys are not mentioned in the will is that he did what a lot of
elderly people did at that time. They split all their possessions and
then went to live with the youngest child--Jeremiah Jr. in this
case--leaving anything that was left to them when they died for taking
care of them. We are looking for the parents of a Jeremiah who moved
into Hardy Co.
