With the exception of the reference contained in the History of Knox County, Ohio (online
version:
http://www.heritagepursuit.com/Knox/KnoxFile7.htm)
does anyone researching the (West) Virginia Channell lines, including John and Joseph who
went to Ohio, have any written record(s) or family papers PRIOR to 1881 that specifically
reference and name Thomas Channell as the father of the boys?
This past week I examined 67 seperate Channell Family gedcoms files that contained
essentially the same reference to Thomas Channell being the father of the boys; HOWEVER,
each of those references appears to contain essentially the same information as found in
The History of Knox County, Ohio. The truly interesting part of this that in this History
of Knox County, Ohio -- Thomas is not named as the boys father. The published reference
merely states that the boys family came to South Carolina from Ireland.
Does anyone know how the name of a Thomas Channell became connected as the father of the
boys?
Would appreciate any feedback on this from interested parties.
