mothers name was Martha
Jane (Hidy) Channell. He was 72 when he passway.

Dies Following
Two - Year Illness
William Channell, 71, died at 6
a. m. Saturday in his home, 965
Selma rd., after two years of fail-
ing health.
Born in Fayette County, March
29, 1876, he was the son of Joseph
and Martha Leach Channell and
and resided in Springfield for a
number of years.
Surviving are his widow, Eva;
three sons, Lester of Urbana, Har-
old of Springfield, Route 4; and
Myrl of Amlin, O.; four daughters,
Mrs. Herbert White, Springfield;
Mrs. Ottis Pollock, Springfield, Mrs.
John Ray of South Charleston, and
Mrs. Merald Boyd of London, O.; a
brother, Tom of Cable, O,; three
sisters, Mrs. William Penn of Ur-
bana, Mrs. Della Temple and Mrs.
Minnie Vent, both of Columbus; 25
grandchildren and two great grand-
children.
The body was taken to the
Richards Memorial Home where
services will be at 1 p. m. Thurs-
day. Burial will be in Ferncliff
Cemerty.

Mrs. EVA CHANNELL
Mrs. Eva Channell, 87, of 759
E. Southern av., died at
8:45
p.m. Sunday in Community Hos-
pital following one week of
Ill-
ness.
Mrs. Channell was born June
6, 1882, in Ross County and lived
in Springfield for the past
25
years. She was the wife of Wil-
liam Channell, who died
in
Springfield in 1947.
Survivors include three daugh-
ters, Mrs. Irene Boyd of Lon-
don, O., Mrs. Velma Ray of Cali-
fornia and Mrs. Viva Pollock of
Springfield, and two sons, Myrl
of Urbana and Harold Channell
of Springfield.
Her body was taken to the
Richards Memorial Home.

Obituary of Tommy (Jonsie) Channell
THOMAS CHANNELL
Thomas Channell, five - year - old
son of Mr and Mrs. Lester Chan-
nell of 1074 Mound st., died sud-
denly at 9:10 a. m. Thursday in
the Champaign County Hospital in
Urbana.
He was born in Clark County
April 10, 1938, the son of Lester
and Elizabeth Chamberlain Chan-
nell. Thomas made his home
with his maternal grandparents
Mr. and Mrs. Harley Steele of
South Vienna, Route 1. He at-
tended the First Methodist Church
and Sunday School at Catawba.
Besides his parents and maternal
grandparents, he is survived by
one brother, Herbert, and his pa-
ternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
William Channel of Springfield.
The body was removed to the
Richards Memorial Home where
funeral services will be held at 2
p. m. Saturday. Burial will be in
Ferncliff Cemetery.
