A funeral service for Ruby Louise Freeland, 84, of Newark, will be at 1
p.m. Wednesday at Brucker & Kishler Funeral Home, Newark, with Pastor John
Harra presiding. Interment will be in Wilson Cemetery.
Mrs. Freeland, a retired administrator from Ohio Rural Electric
Cooperatives, Inc., passed away Dec. 14, 2008, at Flint Ridge Nursing and
Rehabilitation Center. Louise was born July 19, 1924, in St. Louisville, to
her late parents, Charles and Eliza (Chaney) Shannon. She was a graduate of
Utica High School. She was a long time member of Neal Avenue Methodist
Church in Newark.
Louise is survived by her loving sister, Ruth Irwin, of Newark; nephew,
Warren Irwin, of Mount Vernon; niece, Cheri (Nelson) Logan, of Marietta;
and great nephews, Daniel Brady and Stephen Logan.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband,
Martin, and three brothers, Forrest, David and Paul "Gene" Shannon.
The family will receive friends and relatives beginning at 11 a.m.
Wednesday at the funeral home, 985 North 21st St.
