Hi, Is your Nathan Chaney the same Nathan Chaney in the 1800 Pa. census for Providence and
Colerain, Bedford Co? Census:1 m u 10, 1 m 10-15, 1 m 26-44, 1 f u 10, 1 f 10-15, 1 f
26-44
If so, do you feel they came into Pa. from Maryland with Duval 1785? I've been
researching my Chaney line for years. They were in Bedford Co., Pa. and I feel they came
in to Pa. from Maryland with Duval but can't find info to connect my 3rd great
grandfather, Richard Chaney, to one of the men in Bedford that could be his father.
Richard did live with his family in Broadtop. He died between the 1830 and 1840 census. I
feel his wife was Rebecca no maiden name at this time.
I also have this info on a Nathan Chaney:
Nathan Chaney b. 1762 Anne Arundel, Md. Endorsed inventory of John Twigg March 2, 1779
Washington Co., Md. moved to Virginia and then Kentucky Source:
