I'd like to discuss with you Walter Edwin Chaney's employment in the Marshall
Islands at various points between 1956 and 1958 as well as 1962. His employer was Holmes
& Narver, the Dept of Energy's main contractor for its nuclear testing in the
Marshalls... known as the Pacific Proving Ground. Between '56 and '58, your dad
spent time on Enewetak (aka Eniwetok) atoll and/or Bikini atoll. In '62 he spent time
on Johnston Island and/or Christmas Island. If he ever had any of 21 cancers (stomach,
colon, lung, et) subsequent to his his survivors are eligible for compensation. Smoking
history does not affect eligibility as long as the worker was in the Marshalls for at
least 83 days. Hope to hear back from you soon. Thank you, Tom
