Janet,
Thank you for your response -I may have visited with you before
concerning Chaney relatives. But here goes! The person whose grave I have
been unable to find is John Perry Chaney-according to the death certificate
he is buried in Seulles Graveyard and the obituary says it is in Ray county
and burial was conducted by the Masons. He was born in June 19, 1847 and
died on August 20, 1911. He was a resident of Missouri City for many years.
My father and grandfather are both buried in the Missouri City cemetery. It
is conceivable that he is buried with the name of Perry Chaney as that was
what he was commonly called.
I have been unable to find out what happened to the father of John Perry
Chaney. His name was John Chaney, born about 1824-1825-married Mary Jane
Dowden April 2, 1847. He and his family are in the 1850 and 1860 census of
Ray County. They disappear there. My great-grandfather resurfaces in
1880-John Perry Chaney.
If anyone out there can help, it would be greatly appreciated.
Judith Chaney Colhour

Judith,
Ray County is the county next to where I live here in Missouri. Do you
know
if any of your Chaney's were buried there? I know I took a
bunch of
pictures around that area and could go thru them to see if I have any you
might
be
interested in.
