Dear Jim
Of Course!!! Please do let me see the different version! The file will not
work through rootsweb. So please send it to my personal address
SunshineNative(a)aol.com
I will forward the coat of arms information that I have to you as well. Coat
of Arms and family Tartans and Banners are all slightly different from each
other. Often parts of a family that split off have the same banner, tartan or
Coat of Arms wth only a slight change. Sometimes the change can be as small
as a single colored thread that is run through the patterns. To folks from
"todays world" we don't notice so much - a single thread run in a pattern
that would be virtually unnoticed by us, would be standing out 'loud and
proud' by the standards of another year!
I look forward to hearing from you.
Dianne
Hi Dianne,
I'm a Chaney from England, but resident in South Africa for many years. I
have some information on the Chaney name origin, which includes a
Coat of Arms differing quite a lot from your description.
I would be interested to have the info on your source and can mail you my
example,
if you would like to see it.
Regards
Jim
