Virginia shipping logs list Richard Cheney as a ship master in 1699. I did not know
Richard Cheney (I assume this is the second Richard Cheyney/Cheney/Chaney) was a ship
master. If someone has more information on this, I would very much like to hear it. If
an Anne Arundel historian can fill in some of the illegible blanks in the listing below, I
would very much appreciate it.
The following is an entry on shipping logs kept by Virginia shipping officials. The
information is in a spreadsheet format, handwritten in cursive on crumbling paper, and
photographed for microfilm. I have typed the column headings in all caps and the
entries in initial caps to make the entry easier to understand.
If anyone wants detailed source material, I'll be glad to provide it.
