Hi Steve,
Thanks for getting back to me. I do believe that your Chandler line just might be
connected to mine. There was a young lady name Elaine, who was caucasian I can't find
her last name now but will look for it and send it to you. She provided me with alot of
infor. on the Chandler line and everytime she e-mailed me she always signed off your
cousin and she knew I was afro-american. She stated that I mentioned that I was of
afro-american heritage, and she think she just might have found the link because her
Chandlers' are white. Elaine said to her that does not matter, people are people and
family is family no matter what color or religion or any of that other junk people worry
about. She was just excited to make contact with someone along her family line. She also
stated that the Chandlers decended from the Scarboroughs.
Elaine, said she found a person who has them back to 1200, she has them back to 1500. She
mentioned her branch of Chandlers are white. But she said one of the Chandlers had
numerous children by his slaves, she mentioned David. Here is some other info. she sent me
(Abstract of the will of Thomas Chandler of Accomack Cty.) Mentions brothers, Mitchell
and Labtian; brother Littleton; nephew, Thomas Chandler; Mrs Margaret Harrison; his
mother, Patience Chandler; brother; Mitchell and friend, Mr. Thomas Wishart as Extrs.
Signed, 18 July 1881. Does Mitchell Chandler parents John Chandler III and Patience Kellam
sound familiar? This infor. was sent to me on the mess. board from a lady name helen,
which was regarding my ggrandfather Henry Chandler she said the only Henry she came across
was a slave baby born to Mitchell Chandlers' family in 1838. She said her family came
from Accomac Co. I have a research historian on the eastern shore who sent me some infor.
that my Chandlers !
are not associated with Northampton Cty. where most of my lines are from. So this might
mean they were from Accomack Cty. and she is going to provide me with that infor.
