I am still looking for information on a Josiah Chandler who was on
1830 Pulaski Co. Ark. Census index.
1840 Sevier Co. Ark. Census shows following:
4m. 20-30 1m 60-70; 1f 5-10, 2f 10-15, 3f 15-20, 1f 50-60
1850 I cannot locate Joshua
According to a write-up on Alfred Polk -Bell Co. Tx.1893.
Alfred Polk married Irene Chandler 1840 in Ark.
"Miss Irene Chandler, a daughter of Josiah Chandler, a native of Tennessee."
on write up of their son James A. Polk.......b.in Polk Co., Ark. 1842, a son
of Alfred and Irene Polk, also matives of Polk Co...."The Mother is a
daughter
of Josiah Chandler, of English descent, who died in Arkansas."
James A. Polk came with his parents to Texas in 1850, the mother died in
1857.
Irene's sister (who is ancestor of my husband) was Elizabeth Chandler b.
1821 Ky.
m. 1842 in Sevier Co., Ark. John Hall, marriage record says both of Sevier
Co.
They were in Texas, Austin, Travis Co. on 1850 Census. They moved to Bell
Co.,
same area as the Polk's on North Noland Creek, 1854. A daughter Elizabeth is
born 15 Sep.1856 and on 1860 Census John Hall is alone with children...
Any and all information would be appreciate that might possibly connect.
