First time caller, short time listener. Oh excuse me . . . wrong medium!
Actually, my 2G Grandparents were Martin McCoy and SARAH Chandler and
though I've been able to trace Martin's ancestry back just one generation
to Northern Ireland, Sarah's immigrant ancestry has successfully eluded me.
I have this:
Sarah Chandler was born June 2, 1818 in Randolph Co., NC.
She and Martin were married March 30, 1837 in Smoothe Prairie, IL.
She died June 2, 1818, in Harrison Twp., Winnebago Co., IL.
Martin McCoy came to Southern Illinois in 1834, resided there for a little
over four years and was married there. In April, 1838 he and his bride
moved to Rockford (Northern IL) and resumed their farming life. Sarah had a
brother living near them and I'm almost positive that his name was Henry
Chandler.
Not much to go on. The North Carolina part is interesting to me because
almost all the rest of my ancestry is New English.
Help!
